Rendered in a manner that seems inspired by a pair of early19th century Staffordshire boxing figures (though certainly not as fine as those) I would guess this boxer dates from the 1940s or so

Very Beautiful 1838 German Catechism Book with Hand-printed Paper Cover tweety bird Some wear to the spineThis, and a second PA German catechism book also listed today, are all about book as object for me namely about the gorgeous hand printed paper on the cover boards; the mustard and green gridded pattern here just makes me swoon, and feels as contemporary as it does 1830s (this one published in 1838). As beautiful as any wallpaper band box, and takes up much less space! 5 9 16" x 3 11 16". Very good condition.
