Portrait of Isaac Newton (1642-1727) mb-artistname W Summers originally depicted as a vileHalf length painting of Newton, from an original oil portrait by Jervas at the Royal Society, showing the sitter in 1717 at the age of 74. Newton is shown in a red coat with a dark waistcoat and white neck cloth. Not signed. Isaac Newton was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1672, he served as its President from 1703 to 1727.
